stock 69 chevelle ss. front end rebuilt stock a few years ago. rear, completely aging, changed once a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. looking for the car to just be better.

i am not expecting it to be a porsche/rolls royce. and of course, i am limited by money (familiar?).

based on posts here and elsewhere, the list below seems to provide above decent handling, a decent ride and good value per dollar that will last for several years. the car is not a daily driver but not a stored show car. occasionally, i push it close to its limits . it is just my...toy and i want to raise the limit. no fabrications, i need to be able to return it to original. list is as follows:
-hotchkis spring set.
-hotchkis sway bar kit.
-hotchkis OR edelbrock rear lower control arms.
-hotchkis OR edelbrock rear upper adjustable control arms.
-hotchkis OR edelbrock tubular brace.
-17x9 all around, 255 front, 275 rear.

questions:
1) what is the difference between the edelbrock and the hotckis parts technically (see list). edelbrock is $260 cheaper!
2) any comments on the list.
3) out of experiance, can anyone compare the handling i will get to a newer vehicle (i have no experiance with muscle cars other than mine)?
4) Future upgrades will be the Baer brake kit, front and rear, front tublar arms, how would this further improve the setup?

sorry for the long email, but this is a lot of money, i think i am getting a good deal. many beers have been sacrificed for this purpose! suggestions, comments, alternatives would be highly appreciated.

thanks.

Hey i have just finished doing my rear setup and was looking at the same problem i after what i heard i went with the edelbrock boxed lowers and adjustable uppers the guy said that hotchkis used to supply edelbrock with the parts and edelbrock then just copied the design kind of a harsh way to do business, but i dont think there is difference in the quality of both pieces and so i went with the cheaper edelbrock (the money thing ;) ) ive also heard nothing but good things about the hotchkis springs and bars from anyone who rides with them on this site so i think they are a safe bet
ive got suspension technique springs and bars on my car because my performance parts dealer up here doesnt deal with hotchkis and i would have had to order them up from the states (the money thing again)
hope this helps!
