Hi!

I have '72 El Camino frameoff project, and now that I had '95 Z28 engine/trans installed (using stock '72 engine mounts) I need to shorten my stock driveshaft. Previous setup was 350/TH350. I have original 10-bolt rearend. Does anyone can tell me how much shorter my driveshaft must be?

Ofcourse I can take measurements, but I'm little concerned, because I don't have body weight on chassis right now, so my rearend isn't aligned properly. So anyone can help me out?

Best way is to measure but guess you can't.
Here's trans dim's (http://www.tciauto.com/Products/TechInfo/trans_dims.asp) ,so if your a gambler you could calculate the difference in both tran's and base the length from that.
This is not the recommended method as the rear position may change some dims. as can different yokes -trans/rear.

Thanks Mike.

So no one here done TH700R4 conversion to tell me driveshaft length?

Armas,

I hesitate to give a measurement because there are different transmission yoke designs that will affect the length of the driveshaft tube.
