i got my replacement front brake cable guide
and am not sure where it goes to the assy
manual it looks like the trans crossmember
but it just does not fit correctly at that point
does it go to the right frame rail?

The brake cable goes forom the pedel through a hole in the frame, under the tranny cross member and attaches to the intermediate cable.
The intermediate cable is a half circle, sort of. each end goes to the rear brake cables. The intermediate cable is held up by hooks an either side that hook to the floor pan brace, and a bigger hook on the tranny cross member opposite where the front cable attaches.

Edit: I just reread your post. If the cable guide is one of those hooks, I guess I covered it. I think you're talking about the big hook in the cross member, nothing goes to the frame.

ok than we have big problems i can not
adjust the cable far enough to get
any slack out of it if any one has picutres
it may help i have all new cables and
the old ones everything is the same size
i had to replace the front cable guide
(the large one)mine was missing i ordered new from

(the hook ends are also off set)
no matter what i do i can not come
even close

IIRC, 4 speed and th350 equiped cars had a longer cable and the th400 cars used a shorter one, intermediate cable, that is.

ok the more i look at it the more i am sure it
has to be with the large cable guid.....
should the ends be off set? my 64 ponitac
they are not! this is a th350 car again anything
would help
