Hey guys, I have brazilian Cherry wood floors in my family room, and of course my kids have scuffed them up pretty good. Any tricks of the trade for removal will help? Thanks guys.

I have been a hardwood flooring contractor for 10 yrs, been in the trade for 20.

What type of floor? Sight finished or prefinished flooring?

Can you take a picture?

I worked at a school district and the janitors used a tennis ball to remove black scuff marks, don't laugh it works. They would cut a slit in the ball and put a stick in it and go down the hallways and rub the marks with the ball

I think my wife or mom put like a murphys oil type of polish on the floor and actually messed it up, the scuff marks are everywhere from the kids playing

I would try a cleaner made for the hardwood floor finish. Murphy's oil soap is a BIG no no on hardwood floors. If you ever need to have your floors re coated, the finish won't stick. You can call one of your local suppliers and ask them if they carry hardwood floor cleaner that is specifically made for cleaning hardwood.

Those look more like smudges to me. To bad you are not local, I would just come fix it for free. I have fixed a couple floors around here for team members.

I work for beer when it is between friends.
