Hello all,

My dad and I restored a 67 chevelle SS about 18 years ago. It spent the last 5 years stored in a outdoor shed with no heat or ac. I has a little water spot around the overhead light. It is not all the bad at this point but I do want to try to clean it and or protect it. It is in a garage now that has heat and ac. I would like to get the headliner, the best the I can, back to the "like new condition" that it was in after the restoration. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chad

Hmmm...

I had the same problem with mine at the sailpanels...

Only mine was a mouse best and the stain was poop and pee...

I would take the light down and look around with a light...

What could I use to clean up the stain that is on the headliner without damaging it?

well...

The seams are the problem...

The thread gets weak from age and tears easily.

Mine ripped from my head touching it while I sat on a milk crate.

I would think any good cleaners like simple green, dawn dish soap, etc...wouldnt hurt the material...

I dont "THINK" it will stain it. I cant imagine it would...

Start with water & a Q-tip and patience.
Then move up from there.
Non-ammonia window cleaner, next.
Take lots of time and move from the outside of the stain in.
