Hi, I'm looking for a manual steering box for my 1970 Chevelle SS.
I see many steering boxes on the web that claim to be for 65-71 Chevelles but I’m told that most are for Chevys with small block engines.
Mine has a big block. So, which one do I need and where can I get a used or new one? I'm a little confused. The box that is on there is a Saginaw 13/3579142/223. Can someone offer some help? Thanks, Duane

Scroll down to about 1/2 way down the first page and you will see a close-up picture of an original manual box to help you with the correct one.

I think they are all interchangeable, functionality wise. I thought the difference was mostly in the coupling or something like that. but I thought they would still interchange, but not be "correct". Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong..... :)

You could also probably get your existing box rebuilt. I had my manual box rebuilt and that tightened it up quite a bit. I've since changed to a Jeep GC box though.....
