ive been wanting to put a keyless start ignition in my 71 chevelle, and i was going to put on my dash, but the problem is the steering column lock. would there be any problems putting a 68 chevelle steering column since there was no key in that years column

I have a 67 Chevelle so the key is on the dash. 67/68 used the same column. I ordered an IDIDT tilt column and it says first gen camaro and 67/68 chevelle. I am pulling my old column out within the next week so if you need measurments let me know...

Now I don't remember if my steering wheel even locks (cant turn) My 69 camaro did as well as all the other keyed columns but I just dont think mine did in the 67 Chevelle.... with that being said, my IDIDIT will not lock the steering wheel... not something I really thought about... until now...:sad:
