: Inspecting a cheap car?

I am selling a cheap junk car w/ lots of miles, but it is cheap, below blue book even.
Are dents really a huge turn off?

Some guy wasted my time and his time to just look at a cheap car, and then he was picky about it?! The car does not knock, or smoke.

Just ranting. :D

I am not selling it to any Chevelles.com members.:noway: I still have to talk to you after I sell it.:D

When you list it. Sometimes, people just need to be made clear that your selling a cheap car and they need it spelled out for them. Otherwise they just dont get it. Things like, this car is cheap for a reason, this car is cheap because it has such and such miles and...list work needed. It baffles me sometimes how certain buyers are expecting a lot when they buy a cheap car.

You might be right Chris. I am going to rewrite my ad.

I might just send this car to the junkyard, it is not worth the hassle.:D

I wanted to race it at the local circle track, but they did away w/ the import class.:(

I posted pics on my ad, it clearly shows the front end, it is black primer(hood and fenders).

I just sold my 86 Madza B2000 pickup I bought new. It had 191,000 miles on it. Saw the guy who bought it 3 weeks later and he said, "I'm ready to get rid of it, not enough power". I said "really, it had 80hp when it was new".

Reminded me of the guy who bought a MINI Cooper and wanted to sell it.....his reason was it was too small. I wonder if he even noticed that it was called a "MINI" Cooper?

I know exactly what you are talking about. I tried selling a Hundai excel several years ago. The car ran fine, had a straight body but the paint was faded. Guy comes out, drives it & decides it is "a bit much" for his niece. Left me wondering - what did he expect for a car listed at $500?!? We wound up donating it to charity & got the tax write-off...

Still sitting in the corner of the garage... debating weather or not to rebuild it or just throw a shift kit at it & go. I've found alot of good lock-up convertor instructions (here); could not find any markings on the convertor to I.D. stall speed - do you remember what it stalled at? Also need to get the TV kit from Bowtie Overdrives & need a driveshaft. PM me if you haven't sold/wanna sell yours. How's that killer RAT?

It shifted just fine in my elco, the stall I would say is stock.
The shifts were not hard, it had that "stock" feeling when it shifted.

I still have the driveshaft. If I stop being lazy, I got another ds, that I think will fit if I use the yoke from the one I have.

If don't need the old one, your welcome to it. I need to stop procrastinating.:D

Very often, selling a used car can be a real pain. I once had a '65 chevy van for sale for a few hundred dollars. Some jerk came over to look at it and presented me with a long speech on all the defects. While he was doing that, another guy came by , looked over the van and said "sold!". It was great to see the look on the first guy's face.
