: Re-installing interior on a 66

I have recently been given a 66 2 dr hardtop from my late father-in-law. He had been in the process of restoring his car but was unable to finish it before he passed away. The interior has been re-upholstered as well as there are many new pieces. I have a cousin who has restored a few muscle cars who is going to help me with the install. My question is:

What are some things I should think about doing to the inside of the car before we put it back together, ie: stereo wiring, insulation, sound deadener, etc.

Please throw out any ideas you have and I will have to see how much I can handle, budget wise.

I will be away for about a week so if i don't respond right away, that's why.

Thanks,

Scott

put in the headliner BEFORE the front and rear windshields are installed. Do a search here on carpet install, and anything else you want to know.....someone here has been there.
And most important........post up some pics for us to see!!!

I wouldn't and didn't use the factory floor insulation. "Dynamat", is nice, but also kinda expensive if you do the whole inside.

I did the "WHOLE" inside. Floor, roof, doors, firewall, trunk divider, etc. No rattles, quiet inside, stays cooler. Very important,IMO.

You can run a piece of rubber (flexible) tube or something similar along the trans tunnel that sticks outfrom under the front/rear of the carpet or go along the door sills in case you ever wanted to feed some wire for a future upgrade. (speakers, hidden kill switch/light or?)
