I tried to get a pic of the section I am talking about.
I need to replace my gas tank hanger brackets and the rusty section shown in the pics. This rear piece that the rear of the body attaches to the rear of the frame. I have no idea what that section is called. it is the rear section of the trunk pan.
Can you tell from these pics? Is it part of the trunk pan?
Can you tell me how much it would cost to replace these sections (no paint)? How difficult is it to replace this section?

The rest of the trunk pan is in good shape. Thanks

Looks like the rear section of the trunk pan to me
Price to replace will vary, you will end up prob. paying time and materials at most shops. Most shops around my neck of the woods charge from 48-60 an hour for body labor. I would replace the whole trunk floor since your going to end up buying the whole trunk floor anyway. I would think that 10 hours be on the high side at most shops to do that.
Difficulty really depends on your skill level. What kind of stuff have you done? If you haven't done any welding etc.. you don't want to do it. but if you can weld and maybe have put in a patch pnl. of some sorts before I would say tackle it yourself and take the pride. Theres tons of knowledgeable people here to walk you thought things:beers:

Thanks guys. It did seem to be a different piece than the trunk pan...I did notice a seam. I'll probably have to have someone do it for me...I don't have the expertise to tackle it myself.
