Ok so i gave up on trying to find the right parts and i always wanted push button start anyway so can someone lead me in the right direction of where to start, putting in a toggle switch for my power and acc and then a push button start.. from what i have read and looked at in auto zone most of there togge switches have two screws one for the power and one for the load, also push button has two screws, im trying to use all the factory wiring, so i would put the main power on one side of toggle then my accessories lights etc on the other screw of the toggle and run a jumper with a in line fuse to one side of push button and starter wire to other side? i may be way off here so i need help!!!!!!!!

Jeff, I assume you're working on the 68 so I don't understand "gave up on trying to find the right parts"? Everybody carries the ignition switch from GU to RockAuto.

well i went through 3 sets of keys and tumblers and two switches before i gave up. ide rather go ths route any way.

And yes its on my 68, i really would like some input before i take off the factory connector that goes to the ignition switch.. i plan on leaving enough wire on that to splice it back in SOMEDAY lol if i decide to go back that route but i doubt i will!

ok so i hooked up battery and tested power to the harness connector that goes to ign switch and i have power so everything is good there.. looks like theres two large red wires two green wires a black a brown and a pink with a black line, im assuming one large red is power one large red start black ground and idk about the rest...



Anyone??????

You may have some problems with the charging system when you convert everything to toggle switches.
Back up to the Electrical Forum main page, and click on "Search this forum" then Advanced Search. Use "ignition" for your keywork and "Ark68SS" under "search by User name". That will bring up a bunch of threads on what you're trying to accomplish.

ok you say brown is wipers heater and radio.. im not using any of those so i dont need that one?

also what about key in buzzer? will i need that one?
