: I'm 16 and I don't drive an Import!
SoCalRat Jul 19th, 99, 2:45 PM I'm 16 and drive a 67 Malibu <beat-up, ripped seats(seat springs hurt by the way),primered trunk, 5 year old Earl Shrieber $99 paint job, looks like a Car Craft feature car(love Car Craft)> and slowly being restored when I get the $. I got a new front suspension kit and disc brakes at least. The people talking about their high schools in the Chevelle Owners-Dying Breed? post sure got it made. Only my '67, 2 Mustangs, and a 69 Elky remain now since the Seniors graduated. Every other car is either a rice burner or a new and lowered truck. I got so ticked off that I am starting a club just for Generation X-ers who drive classic cars. I'll soon have the website up and running http://genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com
and pics and other stuff uploaded. And since I didn't want to have to pay money to the state and I'm too broke to pay for a membership, I decided to make it free to join. However you must be a part of Generation X. Team Chevelle and Classic Cars Forever! Woohoo!
Anyhelp you need with the website let me know, ive done some web work in the past and am pretty adept at Photoshop.
Im 16 too.. 71' 454 SS =)
72CHEVELLE Jul 19th, 99, 3:08 PM Good idea! I'm 21 and there's no one my age doing what I've been doing. While everyone else is looking for the best and loudest stereo for their car, I'm still trying to find an original 8-track player for mine. I understand I may not "qualify" for your club, but its a great idea. I've got a 72 Chevelle and I just bought a 71 SS that need a ton of work, so I'm really getting into this car-thing heavy. I grew up restoring and building classic cars (thanks Dad!). I figured I'd wait till after college to get one, but I couldn't. I bought my 72 just after my Junior year and I just bought the 71 about a month and a half ago. I graduated in December with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, but I know a lot more about Chevelles than I do about Biology now! I love it. Its good to see America's youth doing something besides going to jail.
BTW, nice homepage! You should put your car on there, no matter what shape its in. Who's Woody Wagon is that? Very nice!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

SoCalRat Jul 19th, 99, 3:31 PM Thanks for the replies guys. And 72Malibu you do qualify for the club Generation X is anyone age 15-35 as of now. And 454 I could use some help if you want to. E-mail me and we'll work something out. 72Malibu, I don't know who's Woody that is. Some guy sent me the pic a long time ago because he wanted to sell it. Do you like the pic at the bottom of the page? My friend made it. And I'm getting pics of my 67 as soon as my friend scans 'em. Thanks again.
SoCalRat Jul 19th, 99, 3:48 PM Sorry! GenX is 16-38 as of now. Born 1961-1983.
Gene Chas Jul 19th, 99, 5:04 PM SoCAlRat, WOW I'm in. I was just beginning to feel old and I just made the tail end of X , born in 61. I'm relieved to hear you guys are still into Detroit Iron. If I had $$$ to burn I'd ship the 396 coming out of my 67 to the west coast so you could eat a paddy full of rice burners for lunch! I'll help any way I can. Keep the fire burnin' man.
RussD Jul 19th, 99, 5:11 PM Hey Jason-
I'll give you hand with any of the club stuff heck I could get pics of my friends muscle cars we could put them up and say hey,"All Kid's don't drive rice" maybe we can inspire some youngin's to drive real American Steel!

malibu4door Jul 19th, 99, 5:32 PM Hey I'm 18 and the only kid in my high school who actually owns my own Chevelle. Others kids drive their dad's or grandma's and pretend that it is really theirs. Count me in, man.
SoCalRat Jul 19th, 99, 5:34 PM Thanks guys for the support. We need to spread the word! 454 is going to help me build the site and I got Gene Chas backing me up(You made it bud right on the deadline) and I saw his clean 67(makes me want to cry Steve that he was thinking of selling it! Good choice Gene!). And Gene, future plans on my 67 call for a 350 or 383 Stroker so hold on to that 396 cause I can smoke riceburners even with my 283! And Steve, I've been checking ads everyday for you buddy! We're gonna get you a 65! (BTW The mag came today, the cash is in the mail) And the BEST news about the club is its FREE cause we all know that the cash goes into the car not into a club unless people want to donate http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif which I would appreciate because as soon as we start getting members we're gonna get stickers for your cars. Thanks for the support again. If you want to help with the website or anything e-mail me at finsandflames@yahoo.com I welcome all pics! Gene can I put your 67 on there? And remember, Open those headers, dump the clutch, and let GenX show you how it's done!
malibu4door Jul 19th, 99, 5:34 PM Just a side note. I passionately hate it when kids tell me that I should put a system in my '69. Screw that, AM is the way to go. Most people can't believe that I actually spent money to get my center speaker working.
SoCalRat Jul 19th, 99, 5:41 PM Beautiful Malibu4door! Just beautiful! Get that AM crankin'! My radio doesn't even work! I just listen to the car(before I took the engine out). Detroit Iron forever!
All i got in mine is the stock am .. thinking about changing it but ... well it hurts i dont want to take it out =)

SoCalRat Jul 19th, 99, 5:49 PM Chris,
I'll tell you this. I have a Pioneer CD player in mine now. Future plans are to install an AM and hide CD player in a repro tissue dispenser! Just a thought!
RussD Jul 19th, 99, 6:01 PM Hey Jason-
Thanks for the words man! Hope you enjoy that Chevelles mag! Hey, how close are you to riverside? Check at Auto Trader Online I was cruising through, there's a 66 kickin' it there that sounds pretty tight!(Plus it's in the range of having 8300 to fix it up!) But(there's always that) I don't want to go an hour and a half for a piece o' crap that I turn around from when I lay my eyes on it.
Anyway Thanks.
Hey also, I got some pretty dope pics of a 69 yesterday. Crusing to the liquor store this 69 350 Malibu caught my eye so I had my friend snap some pics, it's sad, it's rotting away! And the $%&**& Grandma won't sell it, believe me I tried! It's pretty funny all the bird **** on the drivers side quarter panel! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif I'll get it developed!

72Elky Jul 19th, 99, 8:25 PM Count me in too man!! I'm 16 and I'm the only one with a muscle car in the whole school!!!!! We started a so called "muscle car parking area" in the lot, but I'm the only one with the muscle car. The only two other cars are a 99 camaro, and a 98 mustang!! Those don't count. One day i parked in another spot, and they came up to me and said "Hey man, you didnt park in the muscle section!!" So i explained to them "hey, listen, wherever i park is the muscle section". I hate those import pieces of crap. If you wanna know more about what I said check it out on the topic "chevelle owners-a dying breed"

malibu4door Jul 19th, 99, 10:48 PM Hey 72Elky, your story reminds me of the grocery store I work at. It began with me and a friend with a (sorry) '72 Gran Torino. We'd park next to the entrances and "guard" the lot. When a new kid was hired and parked in my spot, he was notified early on and now we are friends. Over the past two years my spot has remained the same, but my friend quit. Now another friend with a '69 Skylark holds the duty.
I hate to admit it, but that '72 was a pretty nice ride and it could take the Skylark and my Chevelle, so I have to respect it.

SoCalRat Jul 20th, 99, 2:25 PM H5O,
I spoke with Al via e-mail and we both opened our eyes as to this post. I was going to post this in a post called "I Apologize", but Al told me not to. But let me first off publicly apologive to anyone who I may have offended. I started this club because while I was at a car show a man in this hobby that I looked up to came over to my friend and I and asked, "Hey X-ers, where are your riceburners?" as some kind of challenge even though I am very much in classic cars. I hate being stereotyped and left out, but it happens all the time. Just as because I live in SoCal I am "supposed" to be a surfer, which I do surf, but not because of where I live, but because I enjoy it. I am also sorry for singling out a group of people and using GenX as my target for this post, but I only started the club because instead of beating the narrow-minded man with a brick like some of us here would do http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif I decided to make light out of it and start a club for a generation that is judged so much, MY generation. So, what I am trying to say by all of this is you're welcome to join the club. Heck, if someone has a 73 Laguna, a 74 Gremlin, or a 87 Buick GN they should not be singled out so welcome abord.
DG,
If you read up above I hope you see why I named it GenX because I took it in light from some man.
And finally to Al and all the others who make this site possible,
I give you a well deserved THANK YOU! And to Al, you taught me a great lesson, for every man who is narrow-minded and judges people, there is always someone like you and Skip to back us up and understand where we are coming from.
And finally to Skip, who was and still is the epitome of goodness and giving, I thank you for all the help you gave me and others in this site and acknowledging us.I can only follow in your footsteps & pray to be as good as a man as you. Hope you're crusin' up there in heaven! Colossians 3:15-17
Thank you all,
Jason
PS On a less serious note, please send me pics of your cars so we can post them on the site. Thanks once again.

You know, that "system" thing really bugs the crap out of me too. My younger brother's friends come over and say stuff like, "D***! You could put three eighteens in that trunk!" Uh, yeah, and you could leave. Now.
Seriously, I'm bummed that no younger kids are into rods and machines (seems like). When I was in HS there was a '67 Chevelle, '70 442, '67 SS396 Impala, '67 Camaro, '69 Firebird, '73 Laguna, and '65 GTO at various times. Now everybody buys a stereo. What the hell?

SoCalRat Jul 20th, 99, 5:44 PM Steve,
You are officialy out of the club http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif Just joking! And yes if you're a classic car nut, but do not have a car you're still invited to join.
TH,
I know what you're talking about man. My neighbors kids are amazed at the size of my 67's trunk. They like to see how many people they can fit in there so far got 8 little kids(ages 4-9)in there http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif At least they are getting interested in what I do and classic cars. My 8 year old brother is hooked on the 69 Dodge Super Bees. He loves the emblem. The neighbors kid now wants a 67 Corvette instead of a Lamborghini Diablo at least.
Guys,
We need to spread the word! If you've got friends with classics, no matter what make, model, etc. & they're part of GenX invite 'em to join and start crusin' to your local hotspot.
The SoCal guys,
On Sept. 16-19 there is going to be the annual Route 66 Rendezvous route-66.org (http://route-66.org) I am planning on going on the 19th(Saturday) since it will be the BIG day(more cars on that day, open headers, Crusin' Hall of Fame, etc). How many of you would like to go? Registration is $45 as of now or $50 at the entrance. Ouch! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif . If I ever get the engine back in my car and if my car gets painted, I'll register it, but otherwise I'll just be browsing(also known as drooling) around looking at cars.
Also, we need a logo, we got some ideas we just need to see 'em and hear your input. Also tonight we're putting on the first pics & adding more info. genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com (http://genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com)

SoCalRat Jul 20th, 99, 8:38 PM Steve,
Don't worry just send me the pics. I can shrink them. I know normal pictures seem like giants when you upload them.
81ElCamino,
If you read above you will notice I said I could care less what year it was, but no new Mustangs or that kind of stuff please. What do you say guys, should we let him in? He's a year off, well maybe not depending on what month he was born? Can we let him in? Group decision. And he did give us a great compliment.
Jon66,
nice logo man! Here was my idea. Feel free to shoot me down! An black Iron Cross turned so it looks like an X with GenX Rods & Customs written in the cross in red. Or GEN written above the Iron Cross and Rods & Customs below. I wish I could draw it up on Paint, but my program sucks.
SoCalRat Jul 20th, 99, 9:37 PM We have pictures! http://genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com Woohoo!
JonnyCanuck Jul 20th, 99, 9:47 PM I'm 17, and I'm from from BC Canada. This club sounds great! I have a 1967 Pontiac Beaumont. It's a Canadian only car, similar to a Chevelle. Is that allowed in the club?
If you want to see pictures of the car, check out the May 1999 issue of CAR CRAFT. There's a couple of shots of my car in the Readers Rides, right near the front of the mag.
Joe Harrison Jul 20th, 99, 10:32 PM Hey So CAl:
I am south of you a few miles and to the east of San Diego in Elcajon 18 miles east of San Diego on HWY 8 (closer to the dunes). Check out the pics on my site http://sites.netscape.net/1969ss/homepage I will have more soon but feel free to cut and past if you want to. The pics I have right now are not that great but I will be bringing the digital camera home from work so I can upload some resent progress shots. You should come down to Lamesa on a thursday night to check out the car show and cruise they have. It is every thursday and starts around 4:30. Lots of old Detriot iron and hot rods.

RagTop70 Jul 21st, 99, 6:07 AM I think I'd be about the only member from North Vernon, IN. And I even qualify (22 in a couple days). I've got a 70 Malibu convertible with a 307/350 th and single exhaust. Hopefully I can change all that before long. I've also got a 70 Malibu coupe with a 350 (in pieces) a th 350 and dual exhaust. The convertible is on jackstands and the coupe is sans engine, but they're mine. I don't have a camera or a scanner. Maybe I'll get one of those disposeable cheapos and send you the pictures to put up, if you like.

72CHEVELLE Jul 21st, 99, 8:29 AM Hey SoCalRat!
Thanx for putting my 72 on your page (although it still needs a little work)! I sent the pics from Fields BMW (that's where I work), but my name is Jeremy Bennett, representing Florida. If there's anyway the pic can be shrunk down, please tell me how and I'll do it to make the page a bit more organized. Also, if you want the story behind my car, go to the Bench Racing section and look under Dwayne Martain's post "Anyone have any recent found in the barn true stories." Good luck and keep us informed on your progress!!

454 Jul 21st, 99, 11:23 AM Note on scanners.
Scanners were made more so you could print out images you scan.. so they usualy try to scan at like 400pixles per inch (hell mine goes to 2800ppi) but since your screen shows images at 71/72 ppi if you want it to come up at about the sise you took it, try to scan it @ 50,75, or 100 ppi, from there you can just shrink it or enlarge it a bit to make it the way you want it =)
PS: 5 hous till my new car =) (71 g/on w SS 454(468))
72CHEVELLE Jul 21st, 99, 11:36 AM Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner nor do I have access to one. I do have a digital camera and upload all of my pictures through that. I still can't seem to shrink my pics!

David Nafarrete Jul 21st, 99, 12:14 PM Count me in too. I am from Orange County, am in LA right now while I finish school. But I like the idea. I say we play on the stereotype as much as possible. Just for kicks.
I am planning to be at Route 66, although I am in the same boat as you. If the car gets back together I will enter it. Otherwise I will be a spectator.
When it is done(hopefully in a few weeks). My 65 will have a 406 and a 6 speed. It already has the 12bolt 4.10s. I have a pic that I will send you.
All of us going to Route 66 should meet before the event or at it.

SoCalRat Jul 21st, 99, 2:16 PM Wow! I don't get home 'til 1:00 and I have 60 something posts and 6 e-mails!
Doug (aka JonnyCanuck),
Yes, you are in, the whole intent of this club is to get all varieties of North American classic cars. How can I let out a beautiful Canadian car? BTW what color is it?
Joe,
I know where you are at. My relatives live down there. I'll have to get directions from you.
Hot66ss,
I'll be sure to tell them that when we start making the stickers after we get THE logo. As I said above I have a logo that if you see it you would be stunned, but my paint program sucks.
RagTop70,
Can't wait to see the pics. I would like any pics from all of the members & I like to acknowledge you guys by your names.
TopDown68,
Mild 454? I'd love to be those tires! It'll be on the site today!
72Elky,
If you click the icon by SoCalRat that says E-mail SoCalRat that'll do it. And if that's not there my e-mail is finsandflames@yahoo.com
Dave Nafarrete,
I agree with you about meeting somewhere before the show. If my Chevelle isn't ready, I think I might go with my friend, who has a 68 Firebird 350. What a nose on that car!
As I said before, "Open those headersOr manifolds),dump the clutch, and let GenX show you how it's done!"
SoCalRat Jul 21st, 99, 2:43 PM Ok hope this works, but here's Chris Clarks logo. u tried to make it clickable, but it did not work so copy this(Ctrl+C) http://genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com/genx.jpg
And then go to your url bar and hit Ctrl+V and then hit Enter. Relly clean logo, maybe we could get rid of Owned by Generation X and just have it say Rods and Customs across the bottom. What do you think. Also made a decision without asking you guys. I do not think it will affect you greatly. I decided since Al has helped us out so much and supplied us with this great site to make him a Full-Time Guest Member. What do you say? Three cheers for Al! Yeah!Yeah!Yeah!

(the post isn't that clear, I'm just saying why is the page rejecting a link from chevelles.com?)
Anyway the logo looks good.
David N.-
I just saw your car on Jason's page, I think I've seen it in person. Do you go to a cruise up in Pasadena on Sat. once in a while? A couple of weeks ago I think i saw it, At least very similar white non-SS, black int. small block, and NHRA stickers on each of the rear quarter windows. hmmm was that your car up there?

SoCalRat Jul 21st, 99, 4:36 PM Check the site out later tonight or tommorrow. The server needs time to think about all the changes. Very organized now. If you check it now it's probably still the old one. Also, lets see if we can here 454 in his "new" Chevelle 468 BB all the way from Massachusetts. Congrats man! And Steve, I don't know why it would not let me link it. Thanks. Be sure to tell your friends with classics about the club.

JON66 Jul 21st, 99, 6:31 PM I like the logo, I agree that the "rods and customs" part could use some work and maybe ditch the "owned by" part. Otherwise i love it. Very cool.

73Malibu Jul 21st, 99, 6:35 PM Wow, my car almost looks good on the website!!
When I was high school I couldn't afford anything as good as most of you guys. My first ride was a wickedly beat 72 Malibu, 350 two sucker/TH 350 brown with tan vinyl, frame damage and dents on every panel including the decklid. That car could spin the open rear end forever. I did a nice one after graduation with a beer ball in the back seat!! Ahh memories

Bye the way cool logo...
P.S I live in Whittier CA.
SoCalRat Jul 21st, 99, 8:13 PM 454,
The people like the logo could use some touching up. I like how Jon66 had the Rods and Customs part only without fading the end. I like that font it's more 50's/60's diner-looking. Also ditch the Owned by...
part. How do you guys like the new site?
Thoes ****s at the DMV Tried to stop me .. but i got my baby today.. had it hauld down on a flatbed =) HAHAH! and did a 0-60 test in front of the cheif of poliece's house =) ehehe didnt have a clock though.. but i'd say this bietch is pumping a good 500-520hp and about equal toqure cause you get MASHED into the back of the seat =)
Also on the logo .. sure thing. I'll send you a few versions tomorrow =) but i'll be buzy gotta get plates ect. then get a sticker.

I just spent a half hour putting all the founders and members names in my e-mail address book so be expecting something soon. Founders you will get a different message than members.
Cool, ... bastard script wont let me change my name =) eheh
Ya i'll hook you up with a much better logo than the one you have..
im still kinda sketchy on what you mean by iorn cross.. sorry .. slow sometimes =) can you try to clarify a bit bud? thanks

SoCalRat Jul 21st, 99, 9:15 PM Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Just when I thought we rid our street of riceburners, the new neighbors pull up in a CRX with a good for nothing 5-inch tailpipe and a VTEC sticker across their windshield. I'm gonna have to show this kid what Detroit Iron is! And Chris, the Iron Cross was the German medal for strength and courage. If you look it up in a search engine you can probably find it. All you have to do is take the cross and rotate it 45 degrees and it will form one hell of a nice looking X. Then put GenX Rods &(make sure it's the symbol, not the word)Customs.
72Elky Jul 21st, 99, 9:15 PM SoCalRat, I've been checking out your site, its growing fast!! If someone can tell me how to shrink pics after i scan them, i'll send mine to ya. Then you'll have one for the Virginia chapter!! Keep up the good work!!!
[This message has been edited by 72Elky (edited 07-21-99).]
Ok cool bud, i'll find a pic and give it a shot.. may *****a lot of people off due to the naziish nature of it but we'll see how it looks.
Also in photoshop you shrink pics by going to image/image size and enter the #'s
In paint i think its file/image size and enter the #'s
just check through the pull down menus on the program you use =) Good luck, cant wait to see the pics =)

This is a reply to your post that is way above this one about dumbass kids and their systems!! What the heck is wrong with them. But the greatest thing is that after I've pumped out all 450 of my horses to the pavement in the school parking lot, I still have a killer 500 watt Pioneer stereo system with 2 10's in the rear that will blow them all away. I can also jam to Led Zepplin while they listen to their Puff Daddy!! I love being the top dog!!
454 Jul 21st, 99, 10:19 PM In my new ride .. god im inlove =) .. due to the aftermarket dash, and all the gauges in it, if i was to put a stero of any sort (currently theres no raido ect) it would be very ugly because i would have to mount it under with nasty brackets .. and theres no speakers in the car ect.. And i really dont want to mess the interior up.. i'll get pics ASAP =))))) Anyway on the broder issue of whether or not to get a Whoop ass noise maker (aside from the engine ) I personaly can see the pro's and con's and its more of a personal choice, some like it some dont. But i think thoes who dont can still apprecieate the cars of thoes who do and vica versa =) oh and one last thing.. any sys that drowns out that beauitfull 454 should be disposed of immeadatly =) sorry for sp. errors =)

SoCalRat Jul 22nd, 99, 6:42 AM Chris,
It shouldn't *****anyone off because it originated from REAL German soldiers, not the Nazis. Used as a medal for strength and courage. The swastika before being used by the Nazis was a symbol of good luck, not anymore. Sorry about my little history plan. Also 72Elky, the only way I know how to shrink the pics is by what 454 said.
454 Jul 22nd, 99, 11:11 AM All you non-number people may be interested in this. In my new ride (pics coming) there is a B&M Megashifter. I HIGHLY Recomend this shifter.. its gods gift to cars =) check it out over at http://www.bmracing.com . I cant say for sure what the price is as it was already in the car, but if its not too high its defintly worth the investment.

malibu4door Jul 22nd, 99, 11:50 AM WoW! I go away to Minnesota for a day and come back to a half hours worth of messages, and I still haven't checked out the club page yet.
I'm working on scanning a pic of my 69. Should I give you one of my senior pics with the car or should I give a reg. photo? I'll see what I can find.
malibu4door Jul 22nd, 99, 12:04 PM Oh btw, my baby is going into the shop on monday for a little rust removal. The bad part is that I can't afford to have it painted yet so I'll be sportin' some ugly primer until next summer when she comes out of hibernation to get a new frost green coat.
In the senior pic with the car, the photographer was creative and perfectly placed my knee in front of the rust, so no one could tell. Cheap coverup though.
SoCalRat Jul 22nd, 99, 1:31 PM Malibu4door,
Either pic will work. I really don't care. It's up to you.
My rust-bucket 67 is gonna get scanned and put on later today so look for that. Also about the "riceboy" neighbor, he brought all his "riceboy" buddies with him. 2 CRX's, a lowered Toyota truck, and 2 wannabe-fast Civics. I think I'm gonna have to teach them a little about some old Detroit Iron. Maybe slam their heads into it(kind of like our friend DZAuto would do). I saw 'em pointing at my car with astonished looks as if they were saying "I'm glad the engine's out of that car!"

ken2 Jul 22nd, 99, 9:30 PM what in the hell is generation x, are you prejudiced??
SoCalRat Jul 22nd, 99, 9:35 PM Chris,
You're making me twitch. I can't wait to see the Iron Cross version! Also can you send me a copy of the message I sent you. I forgot to save it for new members. Also, it depends on how long I have to wait, because patience is a virtue and I don't have much of it. When I got my first car, 72 Malibu, hi-performance 350,TH350, I couldn't be takin' out of the seat(maybe it was the 10 lbs. of duct tape the guy put on 'em) & also the excitement woke me up at 5:00am(sometimes earlier) to go feel the rumble and sound of the engine. But the neighbors did not like it too much.
Also 81ElCamino, welcome to the club. You are member#33. You'll be recieving an e-mail shortly.
SoCalRat Jul 22nd, 99, 9:45 PM Ken2,
If you read above you will notice that Generation X is everyone born in N.America between 1961 and 1983. Also, that's a pretty bold state ment. No I'm not prejudice. Once again, if you read above, it tells you all about why I started the club and I even got permission from our friend, Al. If you have any complaints, feel free to send Al or I an e-mail. And also, a good Christian boy would not be prejudice to anyone. Have a good day.
malibu4door Jul 22nd, 99, 10:46 PM Hey SoCal, I'm all for a monthly newletter, and even more for a separate message board. I noticed on the GenX site a few pictures that came up File Not Found. Anyone else? It may be just me, I'll check it out.
SoCal, How would you prefer I tell friends to join, e-mail to you or by dropping a line on the message board?
David Nafarrete Jul 22nd, 99, 10:55 PM A few of my friends want in. They all have late model american cars. Is that ok?
SoCalRat Jul 22nd, 99, 11:20 PM Malibu4door,

I know some people may not agree from where we are coming from and I know how they feel, but it is just something I felt I had to do. Also, got the pics that were down back up(helps when you put gif instead of jpg) and 5 more pics including 3 of my car(one with my goofy self in it, it was the second day I had the car and I had that stupid smirk on my face since the day before) The pics of my car are huge! As of now, but we will shrink them. Also guys, a total of 33 members in 4 days! Wow! Thanks once again for the support! Almost forgot! http://genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com Like you haven't seen it 20 times before on this topic. Also we have 3 new logo designs and another couple coming.

I've probly got more experinece in the web than most others, so SoCal dont think im contradicting you bud. Just a little point:
.Gif pics are only 256 colors, this is bad =) makes um look realy nasty.
.JPG's are 16bit (32,000 colors) makes the pics look much better.
It would look best if you use JPG when possible, also the file sizes of the two are about equal in most cases..
My .10 =)

Well guys, my name has come a few times in this posting so I better comment.
We always try to support anything that will benefit our hobby. I'm not real thrilled about seeing any kind of a split due to age, that's the one thing the internet (and this site) have going for it. No one judges you on your age, race, religion or any other beliefs.
Everyone comes into this forum with a clean slate and goes from there. Words and actions determine your level of respect from fellow hobbyists.
I emailed SoCalRat with this thought when the post started and he explained why he wanted to have a specialized site. That pretty well sums it up.
Regarding Chevelle history and this post - hmm, can't say as the number of postings necessarily makes history. The Threats to us from the Law is unique as it contained a lot of dialog and expressions. We really have no intention of trying to see how big a post can be.
I'll leave this topic open but a new thread will probably have to be started soon.
The 'core' group of people who have been working on Team Chevelle for the past couple of years range from the teens to the sixties (I'm in between if that matters).

SoCalRat Aug 25th, 99, 7:06 PM WOW! This topic is open again? And does the cheerleader look good? Does she know about Team Chevelle? Also, there was a topic called "I'm 16:Part 2" because this topic got too big...go up to Search on the main page of Chevelle Tech up in the top right hand corner & hit search. Then type "16" in the search bar and type SoCalRat for name(Exact Match) then hit search. Post any more answers in that topic. Thanks guys. Also, good news, 58 members! Thanks a lot to Al & others at TC. Al please seal this one up!

Shawn Aug 26th, 99, 4:50 PM I'm 15 and born on 12/30/83. I own a 1970 El Camino and I am extremely proud of it. I paid $750 for it (it had been sitting in a field for 2 years and needs a new body). I'm still not old enough to drive alone but I can get my permit and I know I'll be the only one at my school with an old muscle car. In fact, Im not going to park it in the school parking lot because I'm afraid something might be done to it so I'll park it somewhere else. She might not be the prettiest car there is (rust sucks) but at least she's american!!!

72chevelle350TH350 Aug 27th, 99, 10:46 PM I am 20 and love my 72 Chevelle, as do all of the ladies. HOWEVER, My good friend has a 92 Plymouth laser (non-import, but still a ricer). It is a four cyl. turbo, that is all-wheel-drive. It will run 12.7's @110mph in the 1/4 mile!! No $%*!, He can spank a 98 camaro SS. If i'm lying, may my chevelle dissapear. nope, it's still here.
So, be ware! Some of those Fiberglass tupperware rides can fly!
