I was wandering if anyone has a pic of the correct cigarette lighter for a 68 300 deluxe? Here is a pic of the one that came in my car, it works fine but I'm not sure if it is correct. It seems a little awkward to pull out of the housing. thanks.

I'm not expert on the 68's Van, but I would think the lighter would be the same for any Chevelle model for that year, not just 300's. At least that would make sense to me.

The knob is a 69-70 design, where the `68 would be chrome with no black and the shape would be different also.
Like Don said, I suspect the element itself would be the same for all the 68's and possibly other years.

Rick, I don't think this is a 69-70 type, it is somewhat smaller around and flat on the top. I don't recall those looking exactly like this one. Although I could be wrong.
But one thing I do know now is that it is not correct for my car. thanks everyone.
