O.k this guy keeps getting back to me about a 454. It is a 82 with 79k on it..he wants 500 for it and it runs good with no smoke or noise.Said he'll let it run for me.. Is that a good starting point for that price??

core price can be 300-450 just for a rebuilder.......
a running sb-chevy would go for 300-minium :)

Around here 500 would be a good price for a runner. But....if he keeps contacting you then he must not be getting many bites so I would offer lower. Try 400
