Well I got finally had the time to get the motor back in the car. The first time I got on it I bent number exhaust pushrod. So I ordered comp cams pushrods. I got few installed and decided to go get gas. I heard a lifter loosen up so I adjusted it at the gas station and it will not stay adjusted. As soon as the motor starts it loosens way out of adjustment. The motor with the new head cam and litters have maybe 30 miles on them which where realtively easy driven. I don't know where to go from here. I am really pissed that this happened already. Any advice on what to check or how this could have happened would be appreciated

Look at the angles and alignment...should be readily apparent

A bent pushrod is often a bad sign... Rocker will not stay adjusted? Hate to think of it but flat cam? That wouldnt cause a bent pushrod. Do you have them too tight? Do you have poly locks or just distorted thread locking nuts on the rockers?

I do have poly locks. The lifter that I bent a pushrod is not the same lifter I am having a problem with. I really hop it's not a flat cam but that is what I am thinking. I didn't cheap out on any parts.

The cam is a solid roller 250/258 @ 50. The lifters are isky ezx and the rockers are Harland sharp. The valve that bent a pushrod is not the same valve that will not stay adjusted. I will take pics when I get back to the house.

Something is amuck,,,,Solid roller won't be flatening a lobe. Won't pull a stud. Shouldn't be bending pushrods or losening up rockers if the poly lock is still tight.

Hmm,

Hmm,

What if the cam is cast though not a billet.....

How are you adjusting your lifters?
If you bent a push rod something almost certainly had to bind. Not enough lash when hot, or coil bind maybe?

I watched a guy srruggle with a adjusting a rocker - it turned out the fulcrum was upside down - flat side down. Might want to double check...

I didnt get a chance to look at it yesterday. When I get off work I will look into it more. When the valve loosens it is nowhere near where I set the lash. Also the cam is a billet core.

Are you using EOIC? Making sure your adjusting the lash on the bottom of the lobes?

I finally got a chance to go out and look to see what was going on. I went through and adjusted the valves just to double check myself. That's when I caught what I did wrong. I was anhsting that valve wrong. Once I adjusted it the right way it seems to be good. Thank you for the help
