Alot of people run their cars code to find out how many were made, the original options, color, motor it came with etc... how do i go about doing so?

YOu can find out some of that information with the Cowl Tag information, but if you want specifics, you need paperwork such as a window sticker or a build sheet. The VIN only tells you series, year, build plant, and in most cases if it was a V-8 or 6 cylinder. Specifics to how many in a particular combo were made is non-existant.
