I need to dye or paint my dash. Anybody out there had any success or recomendations?? I have been told to use vinyl dye. If I do, should I also use the vinyl prep? I know that it makes the plastic soft. I also know of guys who just rub the dash down with naptha prior to using the dye. Is paint a better choice?? Any help (brands, procedures, equip.) would be great! thanks in advance!!

I have had good success with vinyl dye and paint, just don't use gloss. I use semi flat krylon or flat vinyl dye. Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Use a soft brush to get dirt out of the pattern. Let dry then wipe with a good paint prep. Use light coats of paint, let dry then with a paint pen finish the "chrome" detail. Factory correct would be to completly chrome the dash then paint the black.
