Sorry for all the posts guys...trying not to make a mistake here!

The Commander kits look like they use a very tall single plane...not sure I can get this under a stock 69 SS hood. What's your experience? May have to look for a "lower" single plane, like a Vic Jr.

I have two Holley efi manifolds for big block. One setup for 4150 style and one for dominator style. Both are about 7 1/4" high from the front horizontal base to the throttle body base.
I hope this helps some.
I'm not going to let the hood clearance get in the way of a nice induction set-up. I'll punch a hole in the hood if I have to. There are a lot of hoods and scoops to select from.
The real problem is getting an air cleaner to fit.
I put a cross ram on my 62 corvette and the hood wouldn't even close without air cleaners. I ended up putting an L-88 type hood scoop on the hood.

Squido,

Is the EFI setup your referring to on a Chevelle? What year? I know the Supplied Holley intake with their EFI kits are very tall, but the throttle body is 1" shorter than a carb, which helps some. Problem is, I only have a 1/4" to spare right now with my dual plane intake and carb. This is with a drop base air cleaner to boot.

I know the Vic Jr with Accufab TB sits damn low(FAST EFI) I could take a few pics if you want to see. Would also need to take some measurements with a straight edge.

I figured the Vic EFI intake is about the only intake that will fit under the hood, as its substantially shorter than the other. Also, the throttle bodies are exactly 1" shorter than a carb, will really helps.

Vince, I don't have the engine in my chevelle as of yet. Mine is a 68 Sport Coupe.
