I did a little research Friday and found the owners name on the POP booklet still lived at the same address. They were also listed in the phone book. I spoke to the woman who answered and explained the reason for my call. Lo and behold, this car was purchased new by her 18 year old son Phil and the paperwork for the car when sold new, was listed in his fathers name. She was nice enough to forward a message to her son concerning his car and he called me yesterday!!!!! We spoke at length about the car, how he came to buy it and what our plans are for it. I sent him all the pictures in our photobucket link and he couldn't believe the car still existed. Needless to say we're looking forward to reuniting him with the car when it's finished, he actually doesn't live that far from us. Now for the best part, he still has the Original Dealer Window Sticker for the car. He saved it in an envelope for all these years!!! We are thrilled to say the least and hope to reunite it with the car!!!:thumbsup:

It's in the shop Chris, my friend Greg from R.I. bought the car and we're doing the resto on it. When it's done it's staying in Fl. and the owner is just going to fly in to where ever we bring it.

Great news Mike.Their nothing like talking to the original owner and getting the history of the car.Is he going tp give you the window sticker?The original owner of my car wanted to keep the sticker of my car so I had so get copies of it.better than nothing i guess.:(

He seems like a really nice guy Mike, I certainly hope I can reunite the sticker with the car.

This is a cool story, I tracked down the original owner of my 72 about 4 years ago and have stayed in contact with him through an occasional phone call or e-mail. He even came from Iowa to Ohio to drive the car after we rebuilt the motor.

I always say, the Chevelle may be the reason we met, but its the friendships and common interest that make it special.
