MP Brakes now has 11" rear drum packages avail. They are new and complete with all the guts, backing plates and drums. List for $495 a pair. Was thinking of rear discs or a late model 11" set up... Now I'm thinking this will do better and no scrounging or parts cleaning~

BTW, for guys wanting to do this on the cheap (and boy do I mean CHEAP), use an 11" rear drum setup off a '73-'77 Monte Carlo and clones.
Bill has done this on his Nova with great success!
Good luck guys!!

$499!!
That's just way too much money!
You can find the parts off a 76 or 77 A-body like monte carlo for cheap and then just buy all the other parts. I did my whole 11" rear set up for right under $100!! That included the rear assemblies off the donor car, a couple of wheel cylinder rebuild kits, a complete hardware/spring kit, shoes and the drums! Drum brake parts are not very expensive, so I think you should shop around!
One thing to consider tho... if you are planning on keeping the same MC and prop valve that's on the car, the swap won't help much. Also, unless the suspension has been stiffened up, you will not see much benefit either.
Best of luck,
Bill C.
