Got the passenger side A-arms and hub back on the car yesterday but the upper ball joint just doesn't look right. It seems to be pulled too far to the outside of the car as it is stretching the rubber dust boot quite a bit.
Does the weight of the car once it is off the jack stands correct this or straighten it out somewhat? Or do I have something not hooked up correctly? The bottom one seems fine.
Thanks,

Just hit it with a hammer so it fits into the spindle and bolt her up. Not quite sure what your asking, the ball joint does move around???

I have it all hooked up to the spindle and the castellated nut is on it but the ball joint is pulled very hard towards the outside of the car. Just wondered if the weight of the car will change this angle as the rubber dust boot is stretched to the max?

If I remember correctly, yes the upper ball joint will be at an extreme angle with the suspension at full droop. The upper A-arm moves in a tighter arc than the lower so it tends to pull the top of the spindle in and this extends the ball joint out.

Jeff,
Thanks for sharing. The upper ball joints are definately at a sharp angle as I did the driver's side last night and it is the same way. I just didn't remember the old ones looking like that at full droop but I'm sure I wasn't paying attention as much when I took it apart.
Thanks again. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
