'66 El Camino Powerglide on tilt column: We had the column rebuilt and have just put it back in the car. A spring (see picture) was sitting in the hole for the shifter lever. The guy who rebuilt it replaced the original with this "new spring". We know that a spring is supposed to allow the lever to be pulled when shifting out of park and then down through R-N-D. But this spring does not seem to work or the guy just did not install properly. Anybody out there can help us with this? Or guide me to the proper Tech Forum.
