Had some noise in my front end,P.O. installed.Figured I'd pull the springs and line em up to holes as they should be on lower A-arm.My question is which way are springs supposed to be installed slightly open end on top or bottom?this is a big block car if it matters.
Thanks, Mike

Open end down. Also make sure you seat the top in the frame properly. There is a metal circle that the spring fits around (feel around up there). If you don't have it in right, the spring can shift around and cause some noise. And the suspension will probably look high.

Well got the springs in the correct spot, but the open end is on top!! All these manuals and can't find one that shows it  Guess I'll drive it and see,if it is still makin noise then I'll pull it back apart.
Thanks Tim, Mike

I'm gonna switch them this weekend, now are the front springs supposed to have the rubber isolaters? Thanks, Mike

The front springs do not get the rubber isolaters. The flat part of the spring rests on the top of the frame. The lower control arm is molded so that the open end of the spring sets right in there.
