Im sure there are lots of baseball fans here who will disagree, but I just cant stand it. Its boring nad it takes entirely too long for the amount of action you get. I dont mean to put baseball players down, but there just isnt much physical involvement in baseball compared to any of the other sports like basketball, football, soccer or hockey. Looks like alot of standing around to me....

OK baseball fans. Flame away

I agree...football, basketball, maybe soccer, but baseball.. they just stand there most of the time.

A really good, hard-fought game is a joy to watch, but what are the chances of that happening? With 160-odd games in a season, they don't bother fighting for a win until the end.

I only ever watch the playoffs, and occasionally the World Series. Seems to be the only time the games are any good.

I absolutely love the game of baseball. I think it has a lot to do with how much you have played the sport in your life. We are a Baseball/Fastpitch softball family. I can watch any competitive baseball or softball game and thoroughly enjoy it.

I think it has to do more with playing myself when I was younger and coaching my kids. The intricacies of the game can at times be like a chess match. I find it exciting.

I was a small college baseball coach for about 17 years. Watched maybe 200 high school and college games a year, mostly recruiting etc. I've been a Yankee fan for almost 50 years, probably the main reason I have XM radio in my truck and shop and have Direct TV in the shop with usually a Twins game on every day. If you couldn't get excited throughout the game tonight, you must be dead!:beers:

My biggest problem is too many games. I used to love baseball but one day I realized that an exciting win or tough loss is meaningless until september. Who cares that you hit a grand slam to win in the 9th in June when you finish 18 games out of first place.
Penant race baseball is pretty good though.

I do not watch much in the way of sports but I would have to agree. It is the only game of any sport that I would actually go see again. But then again I felt like I was in the game. A puck came up in the stands and hit me in the jaw. Luckily I was on liquid pain relievers at that moment and didn't know I had 2 cracked teeth until the next morning.

My favorite view of baseball games is from directly behind the catcher. That takes the boring part right out of it, you have to make 300 quick decisions, stand stock still while a fastball comes right at your head, and endure the adoration of all the fans.

I'm sure my view has everything to do with our hometown team - The Pirates. 17 losing seasons in a row, longest of any major sports team, in any sport - ever!! And counting!

A truly competitive game between two good teams can be exciting, but it happens so rarely in a small market town. Here's my top 10 things that are wrong with baseball.

1) The season is about 81 games too long. Nothing exciting happens much until the playoffs/world series. 80 games is plenty. 40 would be better. Start the season in June.

2) There needs to be a salary cap for baseball to survive long term, imo, in small market cities. Otherwise, you have what you have now. A handful of big market teams that are perennial contenders with one or two small market clubs who contend for a year or two because the sun, the moon and stars happen to align and they have good young players that will be gone to a big market team soon. Cleveland comes to mind.

3) Until there's a salary cap, any small market team should be designated as a triple A team and price their tickets accordingly. Since that's what we all are, in reality. A-rod gets paid more each year than the whole Pirate's team!

4) If the number of big league teams were reduced, with small market teams prividing players, games would be more competitive and therefore entertaining.

5) There needs to be more Saturday and Sunday AFTERNOON games.
Regular season night games are for an early night's nap on the couch.

6) It seems like 90% of the players can't speak English at all, or on a broken basis. This has always been the case, however.

7) Without a cap, it's hard to become attached to any particular player because he'll be gone when his contract is up, anyway. Again, more of a small market issue. Free agency exists in all sports, but baseball players seem more like high priced hookers to me.

8) Without two competitive teams playing, the sport is boring. Period. Paint drying has more appeal.

9) Both leagues should have the same rules. Either have a designated hitter, or don't. Pick one.

10) Ball Parks should all have the same field dimensions, no matter where the game is played. Infield AND outfield.

And Mike. Spend $100 and do a ride along some time at 165 mph. Then imagine going 200 mph with 42 other cars all around you. Oh, and they use 4th gear in their cars! ;) :D

:hurray::thumbsup: AYYYYYYYYMEN!

I havent watched a full baseball game in yearsand the above pretty much covers why. I played for 15+ years, played football for 7 and im just not enthusiatic about pro ANYTHING. I toggle, check scores, read the paper but I think from here on out its rugby, UFC and a little racing mixed in.

I wont give up watching high school and small college games. I still enjoy those. But pro sports.....its the only thing that seems to be able to make me want to vomit, laugh and sleep at the same time.

My personal favorite stadium...Coors in Denver.

I love baseball. There is so much more "strategery" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategery) :D than many other sports. Football used to be my fav... but the math, statistics and match-ups have swayed me. It doesn't hurt that my home team, the Phillies, are the defending WS champs!

Baseball was my best sport. Used to play organized baseball and softball. I could be sitting out in left all day and never see a play and that was about 500 times more fun than trying to watch it on TV or at a live game.

While we won the Al Central. Most of us around here, me included, realize the likelihood the Twins will beat the Yankees is very slim. But stranger things have happened I guess. We never beat the yankees once all year.

im a royals fan so i know what you mean about the yankees. its like the guy above said, untill theres a cap you have to work 3 times harder and be 3 times smarter to compete with ny. i dont really know why they even have a farm system when all they have to do is wait for the best players to become free agents

I'm ok watching the world series or even some good playoff games, but regular season games just don't do much for me. Again, just a bunch of standing around, scratching, and spitting. Meh, I'd rather hang out with my car.
