What are the must see sights in Vegas and places to go, restaurants, things to do?

My wife and I are going, I've been there once years ago, first time there for my wife. We're going to see Cirque du Soleil O and want to play some blackjack & slots for fun, but plans are open beyond that. Is the Hoover Dam worth a tour?

I did the 30 laps in a Nascar and it was alot of fun! Going back there next month to do it again. http://www.1800bepetty.com/home.aspx

Go to "the gun store" and shoot some fully automatic weapons on their range!
A friend got married down there about 10 years ago, and he took the whole wedding party there...

Got to shoot an uzi, mp5? and a tommy gun... had a blast (no pun intended)

Was a riot to see his 100lb bride shooting the UZI and giggling in between bursts.
:)

We have a resident TC 'Vegas Ambassador. I can't remember his name, but maybe he'll chime in here soon.

Anyone know his screenname?

Give Rowdy a pm.

No better way to see Vegas than through the windshield of a 540 powered '66 Chevelle at mach 1.

If you are going this weekend the Barrett Jackson auction is going on at Mandalay. You could go check out the Chevelles :)

Theres lots of stuff to see there.

Go to VooDoo Lounge on top of Rio for a drink at night - Best view of Vegas!
Take a gondola ride at the Venetian and look at the painted ceilings
See the fountains at Bellagio at night
Go to the Forum Shops in Caesars and watch the Statue show - once every hour
Eat at Spagos while at the Forum Shops - YUM!
Ride the Roller Coaster at New York New York
See the White tigers at Mirage
Go downtown at night and watch the light show on Freemont street
Watch the Volcano Fountain in front of the Mirage after dark
Not free - but there's a pretty good car collection at the Imperial Palace

And of course there's always gambling :) I like to play the roulette table - best odds in Vegas! 50/50!!

On roulette you can bet red...or black. The number doesn't matter. If you throw your money down on red and it hits red anything, you win. Black anything and you lose. That's 50/50 my friend...

Sames goes with even or odd. You put your money on even and it hits an even number...cha-ching...you've just doubled your money.

I like to hang around the tables, wait until I see one that has hit 5 or 6 all black or all red numbers in a row. I figure it's about due to hit the opposite color so that's when I step in. Not foolproof for sure, but like I said...it's the best odds I've found. :D

LOL, you're forgetting about the green 0 or on some tables the 0 and 00.

No, not forgetting...but you're right, make that 49/49/2 odds - :D

If I'm ahead sometimes put a little on the green 00's. Seldom hit, but when they do - YIPPPPEEEE!!!! :hurray:

I like roulette and blackjack.

However, my money seems to go farther on roulette.

Plus, I feel more like James Bond hangin' at the roulette table.

CRAPS, BILLIARDS, or JUST TOUR THE WHOLE CITY. When I was going out there to stay for the summers I would play billiards all day long until night and go visit the strip and see the wonderful shows they have. Also like someone stated, go and tour the hotels. My aunt is the Manager at the Paris Hotel and she told me about just touring all the hotels. I thought it was kind of boring until I actually went. I SAW things that I've never seen anywhere before. But that was when I was under 21 and now I'm 23 and will be back in Vegas this Christmas. CRAPS and ROULETTE here I come!

I think rhoulette has the worst odds of any game on earth.

I make a killing at blackjack every time I go to Vegas. Sat down with 30 bucks once for about 10 / 15 minutes before a show at NY/NY. Walked off with close to 220 bucks. Thats the first time I felt like I had a really well paying job. :D

People I see get wiped out at blackjack usually do not quite grasp how to play other than adding up their cards. Once you learn how to get a feel for the deck and read the cards on a pretty basic level, know where to hold and force / push a dealer to bust, understand when to double down / split, when insurance will actually work for you, etc then you will see coin come your way. Last time I went to Tahoe I hit blackjack 5 hands in a row and then forced a dealer bust the next 3 hands in a row, doubled down the next 2 hands and pulled that in as well. Then I invested my winnings in Patron. Get a good table, fun and good dealer and know the game and....man I could sit there all night.

Man I love me some blackjack.
