My '68 was missing the original hooks that run from the floor to the ebrake cables on both sides. It was jury-rigged with a long hook, similar to the crossmember one. Well, I replaced that with two of the correct hooks, in what I think is the right place, and now it's very sloppy. The pedal won't come all the way back up due to the slack in the front cable. I've adjusted it and get either too much slack in the rear cables, or too much in the front.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Perhaps the intermediate cable is incorrect or stretched. With a t350 or 4 speed the cable would be long, with a t400 the cable would be shorter. You may not want to go this route, but there are cable shorteners on the market, try your local Pep Boys or retail outlet of your choice.

Not to hijack this thread but I am also missing my e brake hooks for the undercarriage. Where did you find those hooks? Thanks

How is that possible? The adjuster should tighten up the whole system.

Tim.

Tim is correct. Tightening the adjuster should tighten all the cables.
