Well we are done for the year! Thanks to everyone on this forum that helped us along the way, we started out w/a 9.8 w/a 1.45 60 ft car and after a long spring & summer, made almost 20 runs and with a whole lot of changes and adjustments to the suspension, tires , motor, launch rpm, ....etc finished up w/a best run of 9.51 w/a 1.32 60ft @ 141.6 mph! Even got to run a few races! Its time to put this away for the winter and wondering what you guys are doing pertaining to fogging the motor? We are running methanol, so far we have drained the fuel cell, and flushed the lines and pump w/regular gas, then drained the lines and cleaned the carb w/wd-40. Someone suggested putting some MMO in a squirter bottle and fogging the motor? Is that needed? or should I just pull the plugs and squirt some in the holes and rotate the block a few turns? Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks again:hurray:

For proper fogging oil, check out some boat supply stores. I am sure a Mercruiser dealer would provide it. Fogging for winter storage is very common in the marine industry.

Normal marine fogging you spray the fogging oil into the carb at until it starts smoking out the exhaust. Then really blast until it stalls out. This coats the intake, cylinders, and exhaust with a film of oil.

Marine stores and many auto parts stores sell fogging oil, comes in a large spray can.

I've used fogging spray also. Not till it stalled but that's fine too. Aviation engine storage searches reveal methods also. I don't really think an engine failure in your plane would be a good thing and proper storage would be a concern.
