hey guys I've got a question I hope someone will have an answer for. I've got a 70 malibu that I converted to disk brakes. Since the conversion I decided to replace my leaking booster and master cylinder with a dual diaphragm unit from a late '80s cutlass with a master cylinder from a late '80s impala/caprice. Is this the correct master cylinder to use for this swap? I'm also wondering how the brake lines from the master cylinder to the combination valve should be plumbed. Is the rear port on the master cyl. for the front brakes? Also do these stepped bore master cylinders need different calipers or can I use the stock calipers from the '70? I'm hoping this combination will give me better brake feel and work better with my low vacuum cam(10" at idle)I'm trying to avoid buying an electric vacuum pump.I also found my flexible brake lines to be a bit on the short side. Any thoughts why these would be this way? I hope I haven't asked to much http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif but spring is approaching fast(not fast enough) and I'd like to get some brakes! Buying new boots is getting expensive!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks again for any information.

Forgot to ad that I'm using a combination valve from a '71-'72 and not the '70 metering valve setup. Thanks again!

You have the right parts for the conversion. I have this setup on my 70 and I love it. The pedal feel is great. I was able to use the existing disc brake lines with out re-plumbing them. The original calipers should be fine. I have a tall spindle conversion, but the calipers I have are the same as the originals. I had to slot the original booster mounting brackets quite a bit and I welded the original pushrod to the G-Body's pushrod. If you have any more questions let me know. Also check out this post as I explained this swap to someone else: http://www.chevelles.com/forum/Forum7/HTML/001970.html
Hope this helps. If you have more questions, just ask!
p.s. If you follow the link to the pictures of my car, you can see the M/C in the picture of the engine..its not real clear but it gives you an idea what it will look like.
