My passenger side control arm has @ 1" of shims on the rear and hits my #4 header tube. If I use an offset shaft what could I expect to gain in clearance?
thanks,

The offset shaft will bring the control arm itself more towards the engine and give you at least another 1/4" less in your shim pack. 3/4" is like the most you want to go there.

Just to make it clear, you can't move the control arm in or out or the alignment will change. The offset control shaft could be used to move the part between the bushings that bolts to the frame closer to the frame bracket. It seems that around 1/4" to 3/8" is the common amount of offset given by others.

BlueSS and Peter,
Thanks for replies. I'm having a hard time visualizing this but it sounds like the offset isn't gonna do what I need. That is, to move the arm away from the motor to give more clearance for the header. The arm *just* touches the #4 tube with the rear bush housing. I took the arm off yesterday to make sure I didn't already have an offset. I don't, at least it's not marked as one, but the differences are pretty subtle.
I guess short of taking the thing to a frame place I'll see if these will work.

Ever had any experience with them?
thanks again,

The offset moves the part of the shaft between the two bushings closer to the frame mount. It doesn't move the actual control arm or the bushing location.

The Pole Position arm work but they may have clearance problems between the arms and the frame mount part on the ends of the brackets where it goes out towards the wheel.
