My brake drums are stripped and ready to be refinished. Opinions, POR-15, etc? Thanks

I think you will get better responses in the brake section, so im going to ship it there

I understand the drums are suppose to appear as natural cast iron. I stripped the drums in muriatic acid and they are real clean, the center section has an silver apperance whereas the outer cast section has a blue-gray apperance. Was thinking of clear; but didn't know if it would stand up to the heat or using POR, Tie-Coat, then a gray cast paint? Any opinions? Thank, Jim

I painted the drums on my car with a 60% gloss. They still look like new. You can also paint them the natural cast color. Use the regular old Krylon paint from Wal Mart and it will hold up fine. You can also order the correct colors in aerosol cans from Eastwood.
