Are there any tricks for getting the brake line separated from the wheel cylinder on rear drum brakes (65 Malibu) without stripping the nut? I'm going to try a line wrench, but any other tricks will be helpful. It looks like the previous owner already started to round off the nut...so I have to be careful and need all the help I can get!

Usually, I have the best luck with breaking the fittings loose by using sudden impact on the line wrench rather than just all out brute force on the wrench.

You might try soaking it down with some liquid wrench or equivalent 24 hours before you do the job.

Anyone else have a solution?
