I have seen some threads about the PST polygraphite bushings, where they are taken out of their sleeves and coated with Amsoil grease. Why is that (squeaky?), and should I do the same for my Moog bushings?
TIA, Kevin

I'm not a materials engineer, but I did stay in a holiday in last week ;)
I do believe it has to do with the material properties. Rubber naturally is a self lubricating material. Poly isn't. That's why you'll see some graphite impregnanted poly bushings being sold on the market.
So no, you don't need to lub up your rubber Moog bushings. Just check occasionally for signs of cracking as that's a sign the elastic properties of the material are long gone :(

Rubber bushings have the rubber bonded to the insert and the centre sleeve. You can't take them apart without destroying them. This is why the rubber needs to be tightened while the suspension is a ride height or else you end up putting a twist in the bushing which can be hard on it and cause it to prematurely fail.
Poly bushing are 3 pieces that can be disassembled. Because the centre sleeve is not bonded to the poly it can rotate and squeak.

Peter, Joe,
The Moog bushings I have are polyurethane. Do these need to be greased like the polygraphite bushings?

Moog now makes polyurethane bushings?
Did they provide any instructions?
Keep in mind that polyurethane and polygraphite are different. Polyurethane doesn't have the impregnated graphite like the polygraphite bushings do.
