: Does your car make you smile?

Me and my pooch Malibu just got back from a little cruise in The Black Car after 3 weeks of it being ignored(the car not my dog). After I pulled it into the garage and wiped him down,I stood back and just starting smiling,I never had a car that made me smile like the Chevelle.

Anyone else want to admit to this? I know, another stupid thread by me.:D

Gary,
My '72 Chevelle makes me smile all the time. I go out and rev the engine. Makes me smile even more.:)

My car probably makes me curse more than anything else, but everytime I tart it, I smile even if its just a little grin. I think the reactions I get from the car are more of a smile maker than anything else. Nothing like a good thumbs up from another driver to make you feel good about your car.

My Chevelle stares at me everyday with that "I dare you to drive me" look.
And I oblige it as many times a week as I can.

I gotta admit, I share that feeling... I love the reactions, the waves, the comments... but most of all I just like to hit the back roads late in the evening and drive with the windows down, listening to the car.

My 69 does....mostly because I never have a problem with it. The 70 pisses me off on a regular basis as does my Oldsmobile. I will say though, when I drove the Cutlass everyday...I had a huge smile on my face when I would open up the secondaries on the Q-jet :D :D

.... good question. Actually today I was doing crap in the yard.. garage ...etc.. in and out.. etc... and walked by the car 1/2 dozen times as if it was not there... then I stopped and stared at it..... and yes I actaully did smile. It made me feel good just sitting there. Not even driving it. knowing it...starts...runs...not in body shop purgatory etc...
Yes my car makes me smile!!

Drove to a cruise in yesterday. Smiled all the way there, while there, and on the way back.
Went out and wiped it down today.
I sat down in the garage and stared at it.
I thanked the Lord for blessing me. Went in the house and told the wife.
She feels the same way.

Moto- "when you turn on your car.....does it return the favor?"

There are alot of imports around here. And I am all about learning something new so I usually stop to b.s. I get asked why I like the old muscle when there is so much new. I just tell them to have their g/f sit on his hood, then mine, and she will let him know. HAHAHa Usually good for some laughs.

X 10. If i'm in a bad mood. Just take the Chevelle out for a few mins. Sort of wipes the frown right off your face. Anyone that has a Harley. Knows what I'm talking about! Same feelin. :) :)

What if the Chevelle is what's making you in a bad mood?

Relates to a woman. Fighting is inevitable but.....the making up is sure nice.
If the car/woman makes you miserable all the time then you need to compromise or get a different car/woman.

Aint that the truth! Wife and I rode the Harley in a poker run for domestic volence yesterday morning and got home at 3.
Got in the Chevelle and drove 30 miles to a cruise in.
Wonderful day!!!

Not a chance. It's a love/hate relationship. I can curse it to death at times, but I always make it up to her. Maybe a can or two of the good stuff, or some nice launches running it through the gears. :D

My Chevelle does put a smile on my face when I see it. It's even better when I fire up the big block and hear it come to life. Solid lifters, 4 speed, 4.10 posi, red car = :D

Used to but I almost forgot what it was like, been off the road for almost 10 yrs.

USed to dig starting it up, the smell of the old interior and the loping of the cam at fast idle with the choke on early in the morning.

Hopefully that itch comes alive again when I drive it this winter.
If it doesnt Ill be bummed but I think Ill love it.

I smile all the time, especially when I remember some of the things my father and I did to that car before he passed away.

I think I smile the biggest when my sons (4 and 10) and I are getting ready to go somewhere and they ask if we can take the Chevelle. I say "OF COURSE!!!," and they both in unison say "Yessssssss!!" with the obligatory gesture. :D:D

Not lately, I've having a hard time installing the new exhaust kit. Not easy doing it alone. I'll be smiling once I hear it, though.

Ok, just the thought of hearing my hard work made me :D.
