Will backing plates off Most GM cars (late 60's-early 70's, especially A-bodies) physically bolt on to a Chevelle 12-bolt housing?
I am going to be moving soon, and my project Chevelle will need to be parked on an inclined driveway for a few months...
I have no trans/driveshaft, and I would really like to hook up the parking-brake, as well as chock the tires to keep it from rolling into the street...My 12-bolt is currently without backing plates.
I know I have some backing plates around here somewhere, but then I also need the shoes, etc. I figured it might be cheaper to pull some at the wrecking yard, with shoes, JUST so I could hook up that parking brake...
Can front drums be used on the rear, for the same temporary purposes... I recall the drums and shoes being different...
Thanks, Tony
