'70 Malibu 2 door HT. Driver's side is the worst, passenger probably should be done. Doesn't latch on first try when shutting the door. Hinges apparently worn out.

What pieces/parts do I need to buy? Where do I get them from. I've been buying most of my stuff from NPD. I may have the body shop deal with this as my fender alignment is questionable too (front of door rubs the front fender). I'd rather provide them with the parts then have them order them and jack up the $$.

Any help appreciated.

you can buy a rebuild kit with pins and bushings. about $10 a hinge. easy install with the hinges off the car.

I bought the rebuild kits from true connections even the springs which is the bitch of the bunch. Take picture of your hinges before you do job. hit the icon for rebuilding hinges in archives there is some excellant dtails from start to finish. this is what I did. You'll also to have a vise and some good solid wire (i use wire from drop ceiling) you compress spring in vise all the way and wire it closed. do it in about three or four spots and tighten wires w. pliers to make sure they are tight when you release pressure on vise. Puta rag over spring when releasing wear safety glass's and do not have any vehicle you consider valuble near by because these springs could take off. also use rag when popping out old springs. You can use a small grinder to just take heads off pins to pop out but do not do any heavy hammering as you'll bend hinge housing. use a 3" flat grinder if you want to remove heads then push out pins. again I am being brief look in archives for the complete step by step instructions. It only took me about two hours taking my time and they came out nice and tight w/ no mistakes,

Did this on my chevy truck. 2 man op. Used an engine hoist with strap to hold the door when we unbolted it. Used a cutoff wheel to cut pins. Replaced pins and bronze bushings. Not too difficult with a little help. Got my kit at Napa auto supplies.

Joe,

An easy way to test the bushings and pins to see if they're worn out is to pick up on the bottom of the door, and see if it moves up a great deal.by the sound of this it's more than likely the issue.

I would advise you to be sure it's the hinges before you go through all this only to find out the sagging still exists!! Less likely but not out of the question that you need new body mounts or worse have a frame problem. With the door open about half way see if you can move it up and down. If so it's the hinges, if not do some more investigating before you rip into it.
