: Oversize drum brakes all around?

Somewhere I saw a listing for oversize four wheel drum brakes and was wondering if anyone has tried them? I know discs are "the way to go" but I really don't want to widen my front track to get them and I like the idea of the "old school" look of the drums (plus I'm a cheapskate). I think the ultimate "old school" would be the Buick fined aluminum drums all around. Would it work with a manual master cylinder?

PS:The company I was talking about is called "Praise Dyno Brakes". Any new comments would be appreciated.

I was looking at that same setup.

For the rears, try the '73-'77 11" drums on Monte Carlos and clones.

Master Power sells these for significant chump change, but they can easily be found in the 'yards for cheap. Get a rebuild kit from your local parts house and bolt them right up.

No proportioning valve to change or MC change needed.

As for the fronts, Z16's used some sort of impala drum up front, but I'm sure its not worth the headache to figure out/find the parts for that type of swap. Just machine down your drum spindle top mounting boss hole and order up some repro caliper brackets to use the factory single piston setup.
