: Headers & Steering Column

I posted this in troubleshooting also, sorry, but it seems like that forum gets zero traffic.

My car went in for a cam swap and the guy pulled the engine. It was winter here and my garage is not heated. I've pulled the engine a ton of times myself and put it back in w/o any trouble. Anyway, the engine is back in, the car runs and drives, the fixed torque converter is back in, but this never happened before-- the headers now hit the steering column and they never did before.
But if I recall correctly, I had to cut the A-arm bolts on the other side so they wouldn't hit the headers.
How can I fix this? How can the engine go in more than one way- up down, left right?
I am going to assume he didn't mess with the lower mounts because those are impossible to deal with. Those things seem impossible to even deal with w/o removing the lower a-arms on the suspension.
There is no need to remove anythingt more than that one bolt in each mount right? So how could things change? How can I look at fixing this? I've sat under the car and though but no ideas came to mind..
