Hi guys! I have a 66 Chevelle with Dana 60 Rear end(converted from leaf spring). The car was set up for drag racing with ladder bars ect. I want to nix the ladder bars and have a good street ride with no wheel hop. My big problem is the car has boxed lower control arms but no uppers at all (the ladder bars were used instead). I have no mounts for the uppers on my rear end. What are my best options?
PS My buddy says I should get some modern ladder bars from Alston Engineering with poly bushings. I think they will still ride to rough?? Thanks in advance.....

To keep that rearend will be both expensive and a rough ride doing it as your friend suggested. Plus, that's a darn big rearend for a car and very heavy! If you are not going to be pushing mondo torque thru it and basically just cruising in it, then I'd recommend you just get the proper rear end. Sounds like even a decent 10-bolt rebuilt with some good parts would do it.

Heck, I've even got a 71 Chevelle 10 bolt here for cheap! Housing only, but you a very far away!

Check out the hot rods to hell website or do a search under truck arms. This suspension uses Nascar truck arm technology to improve ride and handling. Other rearends can be used because the upper control arm mount is not used.(ford 9" Dana 60 etc...) www.hotrodstohell.net (http://www.hotrodstohell.net)
I plan on buying this set up in the future.
