I have searched high and low on NPD, Group Up, and even Ebay for the 4 bolts that attach the rear shocks to the upper part of the frame on my 68 Chevelle. I see most kits come with the lower bolt that goes through the shock but cannot for the life of me find the upper bolts . Anyone have any suggestions?

Ace hardware, lowes, orchard supply, tractor supply or check your current ones (threads and such) and re-use them if they are solid.

Pull your stockers and take them to the hardware store. a buck or so later and your golden.

IIRC, I'm thinking those bolts are just common 3/8"-16 by about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" long...with washers.
I usually buy/use a Grade 5 bolt.

I just swapped the rear shocks on my '67. They are 5/16 NC X 3/4 bolts. The nuts sit on top of the frame right against the trunk floor, And they are not caged/retained. A bit of a bitch to get at !. Get some spare nuts....

use 1" bolts and drop them down from the top....washers and nuts on bottom

Even the AIM shows the bolt going in from the top. Why make it any harder than it has to be? Chevy shows them installed with flat washers and lock nuts, I've found it easier with flat washers, then lock washers and regular nuts.

replaced the bolts on my 64. Used 5/16 x 1-1/2 I think. Put the bolt in from the top with a flat washer and the nut / flat washer / lock from the bottom. once they are all started it was a snap.

Zoinks ! had not thought about trying to get the bolt in from the top. Just did it the way they came out..bolt from the bottom-nut on top.
