Need some help in deciding on which laptop to go with.

Long story short the one I bought was a HP G60-348CA had so many problems with it, and the 2 more after it (crashing all the time)they just exchanged it for an update version of it.
Problem is the new version is a Intel Pentium the old one was a AMD daul core.
As they gave me a new one they are saying I have 14 days again to decide if I like it or I can exchange it for something else. The other one I'm looking at is a Toshiba saterlite, Intel Pentium Daul core.

When I bought the first one I purchased Lightscribe disks, the Toshiba has no Lightscribe. (Could buy one for the PC)
The other differences seem to be Hp has a HDMI out let and the Toshiba has 4 usbs, the HP is a 16" screen and the Toshiba is a 17".

Is the Daul core really worth the hassle of going back to the store and starting all over again?

Thanks for any input.

I would think if the HP has a HDMI output that would set you up for a while since audio/video is going that route these days. I am sure the HP has usb ports as well as they are standard on most computers.

As far as the size difference, I have a 14 inch laptop, because if you are truly going to be taking it places do you really want a big 17inch one? I feel like that defeats the purpose of having a "laptop"

I guess just some things to think about.

Didn't think single cores were still sold? Dual cores does make a noticable difference.

Thanks Guys.
Maybe should of mentioned I do a lot of Photo editing which is why I got a new laptop in the first place. Programs seem to take a lot of ram to run anymore. Both these have more ram than my first computer had hard drive(4 gig).

My experience with HP is anything you can to do get rid of it is worth it. Multiple replacements, store upgrades because now they don't have the previous model, on and on. It's gone now and I'll never own another HP/Compaq.

I travel extensively and always with my Dell Mini 9" netbook. Doesn't even have to be removed from it's sleeve to clear TSA security.
It's the only laptop computer I now own and I'd be lost without it.

I know HP isn't getting the best review in this thread, but really they're one of the better laptops manufacturers out there.

Honestly, go buy one of their business class models and be done with it. It won't be bogged down with a bunch of crapware, many of them meet MIL-STD-810F spec and look sexy at the same time, they are built to spec AND use good components. Last but not least, you can get some great warranty/service plan options as well.

I deal exclusively with HP products at work and they're not as bad as you think...
This is the one I have, and love it. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/ca/en/sm/WF05a/321957-321957-64295-89315-89315-3688868.html

Yes, it's expensive, but there's a reason. It will last you. If there is a problem with it, which does happen, it will be covered by your warranty and/or service plan, and they will do what it takes to make you happy.

Well I took it back and they gave me a new version of my old computer.
They said they had had problems with the first version. Well get it home and the second time I fire it up it crashes. Reinstall everything from start, execept "Norton", and it seemed to work ok. But at this point I have had enough and just went back and exchanged it for a Toshiba. Wish me luck.

Based on the info you have provided, I would highly recommend you take some time to get familiar with the Mac Books. Spend some time in an Apple store and I think you will understand. I purchase all of our companies IT gear and we purchase HP, but for personal use it is really hard to beat Apple. Not cheap, but worth it.
