: manual 4 wheel disc brakes-will it work?? 1968SS Jul 1st, 04, 5:29 PM anyone out there have experience with manual 4 wheel disc brakes? I have a 68SS with manual drum brakes that I am converting to 4 wheel discs. I only have 13-14 inches of vacuum, well below the recommended 18" of vacuum recommended for power brakes.I don't really want a vacuum pump or to have to re cam the motor so I need to know if the manual disc/disc system will work? Additinally, check out the May 2004 copy of 'Classic Trucks'. They have an article on 'electric/hydraulic' brakes from American Brake and Steering 714-771-6549...no vacuum needed. This is the way I'm going, as I've had it w/ boosters, and my knees are getting older. JR | ||
