I'm puzzled and frustrated. I spent the better part of two hours trying to figure out this darn bed trim. Why can't I figure this out? I scratched the gosh darn new paint too. I got the passenger side rear corner and the driver's site front in the mail a few days ago. I can't get the rear corner (pictures) to sit right. I gather the raised part is supposed to sit somewhat flush, but it looks stupid. I can't get any of it to look right. Doesn'tone have any tips? I'm about to pull my hair out.

Just guessing but I would assume the side piece slides over the corner so they lock together. Can't just install from the top.

Thanks for the advice. There are clips screwed into the top of the bed, and these parts "lock" in. You're right, they do slide together, but it looks like that.

Actually they do install from the top, although they don't have to. You can slide the ends/corners on 1st then try to snap it all down, but you're looking for trouble doing it that way, because the chances of scratching is increased.
Are these original GM moldings, and rail molding clips?...or repros?
This is how I did it: After the corners are bolted down, slide the outside edge of the long piece, under the corners pieces, then snap the inside down with the balm of your hand, and it should snap down.
Edit: It might also help to not bolt the corners down tight until the long pieces are snapped down. This way it might be easier to get the long pieces under the outside edge of the cerners.

Hi Bill! Thanks. The corners are repro and the side rails are original. The clips are also original. I can get the rail all snapped down, but the rear corners, where your are perfect, look lousy. I lighty whacked it with my palm, and also tried light taps with a rubber mallot. They all slide tgether ok, but they hust don't look right. It's been apart for a few years, and don't remember how it looked before, but I know it's not like it is.

Bil is correct had to do the same; rail goes under the corner piece..kind of like assembling first then sliding/sdjusting everything. Have patience. :beers:
On the side rails be careful not to smack them hard into the clips, youll get slight dimples in them (ask this idiot how he knows:D)

I had the exact same fit problems with repop Front corners i had bought...
Found another set of originals and it all slipped together like a glove.
