I suspect that this may have been covered in a previous post but I was unable to find what I was looking for in refernce to my specific application;
Converting to four wheel disc from four wheel power drum; 1970 Chevelle, I would like to retain the power brakes and not a manual set-up.
For the front caliper I will be using the 70-76 Camaro front calipers
For the rear caliper I will be using the 82-88 Camaro front calipers
I would like to use a master cylinder which I can get at the local parts store which will bolt up to my stock booster if possible.
Also I already have a Willwood adjustable proportional valve ready to install. May I still use my stock distribution block or do I need a different one???
Thanks.

Thanks. You'll need something in the 1 1/8" MC bore range.
Now, the real question is: What pushrod do you have? Long or short? That will determine what MC you can run.

Thanks for the heads up on the push rod length, I'll have to investigate to see which I have. But before this post fizzles away; can anyone suggest a specific application that I can ask for at the parts store in regards to the master cylinder for each of the push rod lengths??
thanks

why are you using 70-76 Camaro front calipers and not chevelle calipers in the front?

I choose the Camaro calipers because I had seen them listed in several places including David Reinecke;s site and the Hotchkis performance site. I wanted to stick with a parts list which has already been proven to work together if possible. Comments and advice are welcome as always... FO-FDYFO I am particulary intested in your opinion as is was your site which swayed me towards the rear set-up, if I remember correctly you are using an aftermarket m/c?

I dug up some part numbers that will get you in the ball park.
But the real kicker is if you have a long or short pushrod.
See my C5 swap page, specificly the master cylinder paragraph, to see pics of the long or short pushrod.
ACDelco Part #'s
1 1/8" Corvette MC - 18M72
1 1/8" T/A 4WD MC - 18M80
You'll have to order these in to see if they have the deep or shallow pushrod hole and match them up for your pushrod.
Joe
My guess is that if you are using a power drum booster, you will have a long pushrod. That will require a long pushrod style MC that will be harder to find in a disk/disk config. My suggestion would be to use a Corvette MC from around 68 or so. You can get them in either manual or power disk/disk and they both have the deep pushrod hole. I don't have the part numbers off hand, but they should be easy to find.
