Sorry its not a Chevelle question, but Im trying to iron out a brake problem on my mudbogger before I sell it.

Its a 79 Chevy 1-ton with power brakes. Before I stopped driving the truck a few years back, the brake pedal had gotten VERY hard! I had to stand on the brake pedal in order to stop. I was advised to replace the vacuum booster, which I did. It didnt seem to cure the problem.

I did install a Comp Cams vacuum canister and I wonder if it is plumbed correctly. The hose coming off the manifold goes to the check valve on the canister. Then a smaller hose comes off the canister to the booster. Does this sound correct?

The is a vacuum "pod" hooked into the line going to the booster. What is this called and what does it do? Is it possible this is causing my problem?

Lastly, is it possible that the master cylinder is bad? There isnt any fluid leaking from it so I assuming it is good.

I know this is a long post, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
