Is the linkage that goes from the trans. to the steering column for the steering lock. I have a shifter on the floor. I have had this annoying chirping squeeking noise at idol since forever and I finally found it. It was the linkage going to the steering column. I greased it and the noise is gone. I assume its for the steering lock. am i correct. Thank you, Bob
