I'm seriously considering the Caddy rear disc swap on my '69, to go along with my stock manual front disc brakes.
I've been reading some posts of folks who are excited to have installed their rear discs only to find out they can't stop worth a darn because such-and-such went wrong.
Because of this, and the expense, I need some motivation. For those of you who have stock-like front and rear disc, speak up! I want it all - bad and good, what problems you had, why you like it, would you do it again...you get the picture. Let's hear it! smile.gif

Rear discs here, from a '95 Z28. They bolted right up to my 10-bolt and I havn't had a single problem. I have hydroboost from Hydratech, and I'm using stock brake lines and the stock drum brake metering block.
One slight concern to me is that the rotor is very close to the 'caliper abutment' on the on the back side of the rotor. The problem there is that my camaro backing plates are slightly too thick. I could have them milled down to solve the problem, but so far I've been too lazy to do so, and I think the problem will remedy itself as the pads wear down and cause the caliper piston to come out further.
Another caveat is that I removed all the E-brake stuff from the Z28 calipers. I have no e-brake right now, I just carry around a little tire chock for my rear tires when I park on a hill. smile.gif
They've really operated flawlessly though and I'm very happy with it, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

i've got the caddy rears on mine. easy bolt up with bracket, which i make and sell. biggest difficulty is hookup of emergency brake cables. the caddy calipers are expensive also.

I used the custom brackets (bought from tlowe) camaro front rotors (no park brake, but my car's an auto, and I live in the flat-land)
Master cyl was off a '68 vette NON-power, and a wilwood adjustable prop-valve.
For about $300-350 I have GOOD rear discs and the car stops smooth, straight, and quick smile.gif

Take a look at my website. It has some info on popular rear disc swaps.

Joe, I read all that info and it's helpful. Thanks!
TLowe- I'm interested in those brackets. I'll give you an email.
