I have searched and couldn't find an answer that seems logical.
1969 El Camino Big Block, TH400.
My intermediate brake cable broke right where it would go over the driveline. I have a long hook on the passenger side, and a short hook on the drivers side. My question is, am I supposed to have something that hooks on to the crossmember? I don't think it is normal for the brake cable to touch the driveline. It looks like mine was because of the shiny area of the driveline where the cable was routed. My cabling looks almost exactly like this pic:

Yes, there are three hooks, the two you have and one for the crossmember. You should see a hole on the pass side of the crossmember to hook into. It's a longer one.

Thanks for the reply.
I do have three hooks, the one on the passenger side of the crossmember is longer than the other two. Does the cable go over the driveline?
