I purchased a set of 70 Chevelle spindles with worn out rotors, calipers , pads etc. for $100 I have a 69 that I have put a healthy bigblock into that has 4 whl. "manual" drum. I also have a new 70ish Corvette "manual" 4 wheel disc master cyl. (a) Whould you go ahead and convert to disc. (remember gotta buy new stuff) or (b) buy Praise Brake Dyno shoe stuff that's suppose to work like disc.

Definately would go to disc, the new stuff isnt too expensive and like you said "supposed to work like disc" Ralph
I've heard here that the Praise stuff is about 80% like a disc brake. If you want it to stop like it has discs, put the discs on.
Oh, and I have been told that the manual Corvette MC should be used with a manual disc setup, and that there is a separate power MC for a power disc setup. FYI. I didn't see in your post whether you want power discs or manual.
Wait a minute...you're going to use a 4-wheel disc master cylinder with a disc/drum setup on the Chevelle? I don't know how well that will work.

I want to go manual disc. I'll trade the m/c in for a 67-68 Camaro with manual disc. Keep the post coming please!! :D

That is just what I did for the Elky
I started with manual drum brake all around
I bought a late 60's vette manual brake M/C. Converted to front disc with a kit from ECI. I still use the rear drums for now, will convert to disc later. and still use the proportion valve for the four wheel drum
Brakes work very well and the front to rear bias does not seem to be effected with several thousand miles and dragstrip passes om the car
