I've searched the net to no avail. Every front end kit, for every company I've looked at, doesn't list a 68-72 manual steering Pitman arm. I've even checked Autozone, O'Reilly, Ebay, etc. among others. What gives?

Is my only option the boneyard? How can I tell whether a Pitman is good or bad? I'm completely rebuilding my front end on the '70, but I've not checked all my components. I know I need new tie rods, sleeves, etc. and bushings. Going to get a PST kit and get the upper shafts, idler arm, ball joints, etc.

However, if I DO indeed need a Pitman arm, what the heck am I supposed to do? I love diggin in the salvage yards, but I'm pretty pessimistic about finding a good one. graemlins/sad.gif Suggestions or tips?

Thanks for any help guys! smile.gif

i'm sorry to be the one that tells you this but, pitman arms just don't wear out. the only they can be damaged is if the centerlink nut gets loose and wears the whole or the large nut that retains it gets loose and allows wear. these usually never wear out. tom

Doubt you will need a pitman arm. You will need the centerlink that pops into it. Most kits don't have one included.
