: Disk brake help

I just bought a disk brake conversion kit from Stainless Steel brakes for a 66' Chevelle.
During the process I have run into a problem; the spindles, backing plate, and caliper brackets all have 1/2" mounting holes, and the steering arms off of the car have 3/8" bolt holes, so I can't bolt them onto the spindles unless I drill them out.
Nothing at all is mentioned about this in the so called 'detailed instructions' supplied.
Am I missing something here or is the answer to just drill out the holes in the steering arms to 1/2"?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, you'll have to drill them out. Later spindles seem to have the 1/2" holes while the earlier spindles had the smaller holes.

BTW, I thought they were 7/16" holes for the early spindles and not 3/8".

You can drill them out, but I would recommend borrowing a reamer to do the job.

Good luck,
Joe
